About/Contact

Welcome to LaLaLand.
Hi, I'm Kirsti, a happily married North Dakotan blogging about my adventures in homeownership.
As a kid growing up on a North Dakota farm, my dad would say I often "lived in LaLaLand." I'll be the first to admit it--I'm a dreamer. But now that I'm grown I get to live out those dreams. The home my husband and I share has become our LaLaLand--our place of dreamy refuge.
I'm the vintage-loving, retro-dreaming designer. My husband Mike is the brawny, brainy, minimalistic gadget-guy who gets the projects I dream up done.

  1. Kirsti I know that you do not know me but I am Vic and Marilyn Luiken's sister in law and love to read and follow your blog. We also have friends in Jamestown, ND, Arnie Kruse, who I believe has lived there for over 50 years. Would be interesting if you would meet him. He is from my husband's hometown and was our best man in our wedding over 50 yrs ago! Love seeing what you are doing with the renovation of your new home. Keep up the good work and I will be following you on FB.

    1. Hi Jan! Thanks so much for the comment. Annie Kruse sounds so familiar, I'm sure I met him at some point during my time in Jamestown. North Dakota is such a fun community that way--only a few degree of separation at most. I look forward to interacting more on Facebook and here

  3. Hi Kristi. I have my parents old white Saarinen Tulip Table (the one I grew up with). We used the Mr. Clean magic eraser to clean it and boy was that awesome... until we looked at it after and realized where we had scrubbed out all the old stains also scrubbed away the top surface satin sheen (no shiny) But now we see this pattern. Do we have to try and scrub the whole table top with the Mr. Clean to get it all uniform...or is there something we can use on it to bring those spots back to satin?
