Antique shopping adventure

I visited my online friend turned real life friend Carli last weekend. (Here's the story of how we first met last year.) Carli is fantastic. You can read her adventures on her personal blog and see her budding photography business here. I love her. You will too!

She took me to a favorite local antique store. It was my first time there, but I guarantee it wasn't my last. There was an amazing amount of stuff from many different eras. Neither of us purchased anything, but there was plenty to admire. Here are a few favorites.

I'm in love with this cute black and white creamer and sugar bowl. Present tense. Still in love. Simple, clean and sooo cute.

The mug reminded Carli of some from her childhood so she took a photo. She's adorable.

This pink and gold pitcher and glasses caught my eye. I love the ombre effect and the clean gold bands. Pretty in pink.

Brass duck head book ends. A must in every home, I think.

There were oodles of books. I didn't study the titles, but did consider this handsome little shelf.

We were impressed by the enormous dictionary. It would make any bookshelf or coffee table look smarter.

More brass. This time, long and lean candlesticks.

Ms. Carli even modeled hats. I like it!

The mint green, black and white color palate of this little dish is pretty. And the stripes; love the stripes.

The velvet in this flatware set was bright magenta pink. The photo doesn't do it justice, but believe me, the hot pink, black and gold color combo was very, very nice.

We had a great time. I'm excited to go back someday.

  1. Oh too sweet! :) I do like that white hat. I'll be posting with my half of the photos soon, I'm just rather busy right now getting ready to leave in the morning to head to the wedding in Brainerd, MN.

    It was so fun!
