Before and After: Great Grandma's Corner Cupboard

I'm thinking of "weathering" the white a bit with some sand paper by exposing some of the wood. Haven't decided on that one though. Any opinions?

  1. I absolutely love the re-do and am a huge fan of bright white shiny furniture. I say leave it...but I am sure whatever you do will look fab!

  2. Found your blog via Retro Renovation's couch-fest! LOVE your sofa that you posted over there - it the opposite curvature on the back of mine (mine also has bullion fringe!).

Opinion on your corner cabinet - no sandpaper! If anything at all, maybe a slightly different color on the interior. Lots of these were actually painted bright red inside, but you could do something a bit less drastic. Maybe pale aqua, pale yellow, or something like that, depending on your decor. If that doesn't float your boat, I'd leave it just the way it is!

  3. It looks so much lighter and brighter now. When I painted our dining room corner cabinet I debated on distressing a bit too. I didn't, but I do like the look. I think it's a matter of personal preference and depends a lot on the rest of your decor.
