Mom's a gem. The pillow she made holds some others.

My mom is a wonderful person. Not only that, she's pretty much amazing at everything she tackles. And I mean everything.

Most of you know what I'm talking about. She's a seamstress (not just a sewer, but a seamstress--there's a difference), she's a gourmet chef (come visit us in GriggsDakota sometime when she's having a family dinner if you don't know this from experience), she's a writer, artist...the list goes on and on.

So, when Mom tackles a project, you know the end result will be great.
Take the ring pillow we used at our wedding, for instance.
It is everything I wanted and more--complete with the handkerchief I bought in Mike's hometown and a vintage hat pin to hold the rings. Faaaaabulous, no?
Creating things like this takes time--Mom's time. The sad thing is that this little beauty didn't enjoy very much limelight on the wedding day. We even forgot to take off our rings and get photos of them on it!

So, we did a post-nuptials photo shoot in our yard. Now, Mom's efforts will forever be admired.   There's even a blog post to give Mom the thanks she so deserves.
Here's to my Mom, the real gem.

P.S. If you are wondering what else Mom did for the wedding, check out the list of Wedding Peeks in the left column. She's the best kind of wedding planner a girl can ask for--the kind that has LOTS of patience and no fees.
