North Dakota has beautiful sunrises, sunsets, and in the winter, sun dogs. (For those of you who don't know what a sun dog is, or may be curious how and why they appear, find the definition here.)
I was driving home on our gravel road and noticed these yesterday. Enthralled by the beauty, I braved the cold (-20 without windchill) to roll down my window and take a few photos. I wasn't brave enough to get out of the car; I remained comfortable in my drivers seat, only exposing my hands and face while craning out the window.
Even in the coldest of winter, God reminds me of why I love this place.
